ALTO (TREBLE) RECORDER AFTER HOTTETERRE 440 HzRE 440 Hz

baroque alto (treble) recorder after Hotteterre

This recorder is a copy of an instrument by Hotteterre that was probably made in the end of the XVIIth Century. The original, today in the Musée de la Musique, in Paris, is an alto in g at French pitch (392 Hz).

This copy is tuned as an alto in f at 440 Hz. It has the sound quality of the most beautiful baroque instruments, but sounds at modern pitch. It can also be tuned as a g alto at French pitch. It is made from boxwood.
